Because
he won the Senior Indoor title in the Odyssey recently, Brendan Marshall earned
a call up to the Senior Ireland team for the Celtic Cup Indoor International on Sunday
22nd February in Cardiff where he competed in the long jump.
He was a bit disappointed with his
performance, thinking perhaps competing five week-ends in a row left him a bit jaded, but still jumped well enough to place
fifth and earn valuable points for the Ireland team. Even matching his personal best, he would have placed
fourth such was the very high standard of competition.
Brendan can take a well deserved break from competition
now and we’ll see him back in action in the outdoors in a few months time.
