Kevin Duggan was the only athlete from the Club in action at the Irish Universities
Championships in University of Limerick on Fri/Sat 24th/25th April.
Representing DCU, Kevin qualified
safely from Friday evening’s heats of the 100m but in the final on Saturday, struggled a bit to hit
peak form in what was an extremely competitive and closely contested race but still ran well for so early in the season, and
considering that it isn’t too many weeks ago that he limped off the track in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast with a damaged
hamstring.
Success came in the sprint relay where he helped DCU to a clear victory,
gaining valuable points towards the trophy for best overall College. His bad run of luck with injury seems to be behind him
and he now only needs a few more races under his belt to blow away the cobwebs and give him greater confidence to face the
season ahead.

were separated by only 0.03 of a second, with Kevin just 0.08 off a medal
