This year, the Antrim IAAF International Cross Country on 23rd January incorporates the Celtic International Cross Country Championships and four Club members have already booked their places for Antrim, on teams selected by AAI to represent Ireland.

Based on the results of the under 16 races in the All-Ireland Finals in Kilbeggan in November 2009, the AAI has selected Shane Fitzsimons and Thomas Lynn to run in the boys under 17 race and Ciara Hewson and Lorraine Daly in the girls under 17 race.

For Thomas, Ciara and Lorraine this is their first International vests outside of Schools competition, while for Shane it is his latest. The Club will be sending teams to Antrim in most age-groups, so we’ll have a big crowd from Mullingar on the day to support them and cheer them on. Congratulations to the four of them on their selection, which is just reward for their hard work and dedication in training.
