The Club’s Annual General Meeting was held on Friday 29th January in the Annebrook House Hotel and provided an opportunity for those present to be updated on the Club’s activities over the last year, plans for the future, and several important issues were debated and agreed.

Following the Honorary Secretary’s Report by Greg Duggan, the Treasurer’s Report by Sean McMullin and the Chairman’s Report presented by Bobbie Begley, the following were elected as officers and committee members for the coming year:

John Mulvihill (President), Seamus Gibney (Life Vice-president), Cormac Finnerty (Life Vice-president), Martin Fagan (Life Vice-president), Christy Creagh (Vice-President), Bobbie Begley (Chairman), Joe Ryan (Vice-Chairman), Breda McDonnell (Minutes Secretary), Greg Duggan (Hon. Secretary and PRO), Sean McMullin (Hon. Treasurer), Margaret Daly (Registrar), Nuala Moran and Michael Lane (Child Officers), Michael Lane, George Bell and Matt Glennon (Trustees). The officers and trustees are automatically on the new committee and will be joined by Eva Ross, John O’Reilly, Therese Sayeh, Brid Leydon, Tom McGrath, Pat Muldoon Snr. and Martin Lyons who were also elected to the committee.

During the meeting, Margaret (Peg) Dillon RIP (Frank’s mother), Lia Hewson RIP (Ciara’s sister), Miko Finneran RIP (Sarah Mescall’s grandfather), Sean Connolly RIP (Gerry’s brother), John Nugent RIP (Pat’s brother), Phyllis Weldon RIP (Andy Quinn’s twin sister), Stephen Sayeh RIP and Alfonsus Blamo RIP (Ben Sayeh’s brothers), Marie Muldoon RIP (Pat’s mother), Annie Kelly RIP (Paddy’s grandmother), Margaret Wyatt RIP (George Bell’s sister) and Phil Smith RIP (a former member) who all passed away during the year were also remembered.

Several amendments and additions to the Club’s constitution were debated and adopted and the subscriptions rates for 2010 were also agreed and will remain at last year’s rates. Bobbie then thanked all present for their attendance and input, and closed a successful AGM.

The first meeting of the new committee will take place on Tuesday 2nd March at 8.30pm in the Clubhouse, after training.
