Congratulations to
Mark Christie on his victory in the St. Patrick’s
Festival 5km Road Race on Sunday 14th March. Mark completed the course in a new record time of 14:12,
knocking 2 seconds off the previous course record and was over 150m ahead of the second place finisher Sean
Connolly (Tallaght AC) in 14:39, Richie Corcoran (Raheny Shamrocks AC) third in 14:42, and Mark Kirwan (Raheny Shamrocks
AC) fourth in 14:45.
His dominance comes on the back of his recent excellent run in the Armagh Road Race and
demonstrates that Mark is really coming into serious form of late.
Also in action were Gerry
Duffy and Ken Whitelaw using
the race as part of their preparations for the "32 Marathons in 32 Days" challenge they've set themselves
this summer. Also competing was Kieran Nolan getting in some early road race
practice for the Mullingar Road League in May perhaps?
