While we’re all excited about the prospect of seeing Mark Christie compete at the European Championships in Barcelona, we mustn’t forget that last week there was another European Championships taking place, the European Masters T&F in the unpronounceable Nyíregyháza, which is in north east Hungary close to the border with the Ukraine, where Sean McMullin was pleased with his performance in the 5,000m track walk last Friday lunchtime 16th July to finish 15th in his age category against the very best in Europe and was in action again on Sunday afternoon in the demanding 20km road walk in difficult warm and humid conditions where he again turned in an excellent performance to finish 13th.
