Martin Lyons battled hard in the Daingean 5km Road Race on Friday evening 30th July) and was very pleased with his second place finish, which was the best of the large Mullingar group that took part.

Thomas Lynn finished 8th overall and first junior man, just one place ahead of Robert Yorke, with Adam Daly, Stephen Nea and Ryan Blundell also finishing well up in the junior men’s race. Kieran Nolan and John Shaw were next in for Mullingar, with Lorraine Daly close behind and just beaten on the line to finish second junior lady.

Also competing and running well in Daingean were Paula Murray (1st in master category), Aidan Daly, Tommy Carr, Elizabeth Carr, Michael O’Sullivan, Christy Creagh (1st in master category), Yvonne Kane, Rachel Yorke and Tom Shaw.
