Lee Stenson used the AAI Junior
Cross Country Championships on Saturday 1st March as part of his final preparations
for the All-Ireland Schools Cross Country. The course at the Queens University Belfast playing fields was very
tough and proved a real test for the runners, with many finishers literally falling over the line with exhaustion. A
tough uphill section was covered with sand making it more of a sand dune than a section of a cross country course and competitors
needed to be extremely fit to handle the conditions. However, Lee is made of stern stuff and finished in an excellent 11th place,
and no doubt will be well recovered for the Schools Finals.
