Congratulations to Jake Byrne on his selection as the Westmeath National All Star Award Winner for under-age athletics for the year 2007. The award was based on performances at All-Ireland track and field and All-Ireland cross country championships. He will receive his Waterford Crystal trophy at a gala All-Star function next month. Jake is one of the most talented athletes to emerge on the Irish athletics scene at the present time, as he proved by winning the 3,000m at the All-Ireland track and field championships last summer.
