Enjoying the first real taste of summer, the Mullingar athletes that traveled to Crettyard, Co. Laois for the St. Abban’s AC open sports on Bank Holiday Monday 5th May made the most of the day and recorded many excellent performances and as expected from our outstanding juveniles, several got amongst the prizes.

Linda Conroy, Lorraine Daly and John Whitelaw won their events, Liam O’Reilly won both his events, Glen Gaffney was second, Boidu Sayeh was third and Oisin Quinn was fourth. Lorraine Daly and Mairéad Sayeh reached the sprint final but were unlucky not to get among the medals.

Also competing and providing support were Laura Whitelaw and Niamh Quinn.
