Track and Field Competition. The first track and field competition of the 2002 season for our younger juveniles (under 10 to under 16)took place on Sunday 17th February in Tullamore Stadium with the inaugural Tullamore -v- Mullingar -v- St. Clairs (Glasson) friendly Inter-Club T&F competition. It was a great day's competition in cold but dry conditions with everyone giving of their best. Some excellent performances were turned in and hopes are high of successes in the forthcoming Leinster Indoor T&F Championships in Nenagh on 9th/10th March. Points were awarded for the first three in each event and the winner of the Trophy for best overall Club was St.Clairs, narrowly beating Mullingar into 2nd place, with Tullamore a very close 3rd. Due to the success of the day, it is planned to repeat the competition in the Summer. Many thanks to those parents who provided transport and officiated or supported on the day. The day would not have been as successful without your valued assistance.

For the record, Mullingar were 3rd and 5th u/12 (with our own David Smyth on the winning Tullamore team!), 3rd u/14 and 1st u/16.
